The Israeli Association for the United Nations is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote ties with the UN and its entities, deepen familiarity with the diverse topics it addresses, and make them accessible to the public in Israel. We promote connections between civil society and the private sector in Israel, and between civil society and the UN, its institutions, and the specialized agencies authorized to operate in the country.
The Israeli Association for the United Nations is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote ties with the UN and its entities, deepen familiarity with the diverse topics it addresses, and make them accessible to the public in Israel. We promote ties between civil society and the private sector in Israel, and between civil society and the UN, its institutions, and the specialized agencies authorized to operate in the country. Additionally, we act to increase public awareness and understanding of the universal values represented by the UN, which are anchored in international conventions and treaties.
We work to promote Model UN in Israel, to write and publish academic and public articles about the organization and its institutions, and to disseminate knowledge about the work of the UN and its specialized agencies in various fields. In doing so, we strive to deepen the Israeli public’s knowledge and understanding of the UN’s daily activities worldwide and in Israel.
We see ourselves as a vital bridge between civil society and the private sector in Israel and with international institutions, working for a more perfect, engaged, and open society through international cooperation and the promotion of universal values shared by all of humanity.
Strengthening the connection between Israelis and the UN and the multilateral system. We encourage Israelis to integrate into positions within UN organizations (for example, through career workshops and by publishing open positions in the UN system) and to increase Israeli participation in global events and initiatives.
Cultivating young leadership and “global citizens of tomorrow” – integrating UN content into schools and universities, supporting and organizing youth programs (such as Model UN), and providing scholarships and awards to outstanding students in the fields of human rights, peace, and sustainability, while developing a community of young people who share the association’s vision.
The association will strive to serve as an advisory and expert body on UN issues for decision-makers – for example, through publishing position papers and policy recommendations regarding the implementation of international treaties, meeting development goals, Israel’s contribution to humanitarian aid worldwide, and more.
We strive for an involved and aware Israeli society that recognizes and understands the activities and contributions of the UN and its various institutions, and is interested in taking an active part in promoting the universal values they represent.
